jail breaking is like an iphone wayof hacking and if you didnt have the latest version it helped you download apps. if you do it there is a small chance of failing but if it fails it can mess up your iphone if that happens all you need to do is restore it and back it up

well unlocking is being able to use any sim card on the iphone. jailbreaking is a program known as cydia and installer witch allows u to download endless amounts of apps that dont exist on regular iphones for example video recorder,etc. and its safe on the 1rst gen iphone not to sure about unlocking a 3g i heard its possible but never seen it personnally

So when I jailbreak it...I can still use AT%T as a phone and shit...I don't see the point in unlocking it unless you just feel AT
T are nazis. Out of all the service providers I have ever had they have always had the best connection overall to towers, it would make since why mac would use them for there iPhone.

yes it wont destroy ur phone just lets u use new programs as an added bonus. it might void your warrenty.cheapos do this "jailbreaking" like me to avoid being with cingular and paying for apps.
