Why should they give away their money? It's all about the principle. Do you realize that there are much more poor people in the world than there are rich ones? I'll give you an analogy. Why should billionaires at Walmart (the biggest supermarket network on the planet) give away some free stuff to some poor chump who can't pay for it? Because there are millions of such chumps. Why should they favour this particular one? This is nothing short of complex sociological topic.

It's not for sale yet! The 8 mil are the development costs. In mass production prices will start at around 350.000 Euro.

It costs Ford company $200M to develop a brand new mass production model. That's just lousy Ford! $8M to develop a "mass production" Maybach isn't real. No car that cost over $200K is mass production. Available to public - yes. But not mass production. Lamborghinis, Ferraris - parts and body frames are made by machines. But those cars are hand assembled and they can't be called mass production vehicles.
