Oh my gosh. When I said "he just messed up the words. He ruined it." I was talking about Bobby Darin's English version. He changed the words and ruined it. I got 6 negatives and my comment got spammed. I love this version though. The ORIGIONAL version.

Just to put this issue to bed...La Mer (1943, famously sung by Charles Trenet)-a very beautiful French ballad about the sea itself and the beauty of nature; Beyond The Sea (1959, famously sung by Bobby Darin)-an easy listening song that shares only its music with La Mer. It is not an "English version". The lyrics are completely different. It is about a man remembering the woman he loves. Both good songs, both very different.
