other uchi deshi of O'Sensei were free to experiment with their aikido but Kisshomaru had to express the purity and mainstream quality of the art because of his role as son and successor. Even people like Seigo Yamaguchi told students to study with him but be like Kisshomaru.

Yea thats true, which is kind of unfortunate actually, for Kisshomaru at least. Moriteru is the same though, although i saw one video of him recently that was particularly impressive on here somewhere.

If you think he's not as impressive as Shioda-Sensei or Saito-Sensei, he could put you on the ground in the same amount of time as they could. No doubt about it. Just because he moves so smoothly and effortlessly, doesn't mean he isn't effective or powerful.

That sounds weird. A Martial Art that doesn't evolve is dead. And you say that because the Doshu is discendent of O Sensei has to prevent Aikido from evolving?

It is not prevention of evolution it is preserving the original form, Why? Did he prevent or even O'sensei those of the founder of Yoshinkan Aikido and Tomiki Aikido? Just to name a few of other Aikido founded styles!

I really am starting to get annoyed with the "I think that this style isn't effective" comments. They truly do nothing for anyone. I remember when Doshu died. It was a sad day for Aikidoka's.

awareness is the power behind aikido. aikidoka know the human body and its energy very well. in this knowledge, there is control of the person even before an argument starts or a fight breaks out. the art stops fights. that is why aikido is a martial art.
