Uhh...I'm not retarded? They're a BAND OF BOYS putting on a show and making music....pretty much definition of a boy band. The ones you're thinking of are the mist modern ones. Hairbands were oretty much 80's boy bands (with exceptions like Vixen of course). Try thinking before you talk (or type). It'll save both you and me some time.

I think 'boy bands' are a bunch of guys that do coreographed dances all together, and sing together too. Alot of the 80's hair bands are not quite in that category. They have a totally different sound as well.
Definetaly a different group.

if i'm not mistaken, my definenition of "boy band" means a group of guys that sing and dance together. Poison played, wrote, and sang all of their songs. no dancing. Poison rox, as do Motley crew, skid row, and Slaughter. come to think of it, new kids on the block were a boy band. possibly the first, i don't know. what instrument did the play? NOTHING!! ! !! instruments are the difference between a "boy band" and a "real band".

Regardless of "boy band" or whatever label you give them, something has to be said about a band that made an absolute shitload of hits and have been around for a few decades. I mean lets be honest where's N' Sync? Where's Back Street Boys? These guys are not as popular as they were in the mid to late eighties into the 90's, but until someone is standing in their shoes making a decade worth of hits, you shouldnt even be talking. Post a comment when you sell a million albums.

They are a rock band and started out as a hair band. I don't know why you think they are weak. They have ALOT of great songs they did and still do put on great shows. The cd's they made also all sold great. This is the kinda music I grew up to. Though they aint my favorite band I still like them and respect them.
